Our Services
Adjustment / Manipulation
Chiropractic adjustments are safe & controlled forces applied to specific areas of the body. Adjustments are usually performed on joints that are restricted in certain ranges of motion. This is done to create change in the body and allow the joints to move properly.
Myofascial Release
Soft tissue work is crucial to prepare the body for an adjustment. The doctor will apply pressure within the muscle belly to release any “knots” or scar tissue. This technique, when done properly, will help the body relax and allow a smooth and quick adjustment.
IASTM
Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. This technique is within the Myofascial Release umbrella. The doctor utilizes a stainless steel tool and applies cross-friction force on muscles, tendons, fascia and ligaments. This is done to break down scar tissue/adhesions to allow increase in blood flow and range of motion. IASTM is also done to speed up the healing process.
Kinesio-taping
Kinesio-tape is done by taping over specific muscles and joints. The tape serves as a guide to the body and allows the patient to maintain full range of motion while preventing over-stretching. Kinesio-taping helps with reducing inflammation to damaged muscles/tendons/ligaments, and is a great way to support weak joints and muscles.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy involves modalities such as:
E-Stim machine
Moist heat
Therapeutic Ultrasound
Hypervolt
These are used to reduce inflammation, muscle spasms, and increase the healing process. Done as an adjunct to the adjustment to increase therapeutic effects.
Exercise Rehabilitation
After every treatment the patient will be provided a few exercises and/or stretches to work on before the next treatment. This will allow adjustments to last for a longer period of time, and will help build proprioceptive stamina. All rehab exercises will be tailored to the patient’s specific condition.
